A totally new envisioning of Brel material, the creation of "SEASONS IN THE SUN, was driven by Boily's passion to share more accurate translations of Brel's work. With permission and assistance of noted Brel scholar and translator Arnold Johnston, Boily and cast shed new light on Brel standards and present little known jewels from Brel's vast repertoire. Joining Boily will be fellow performers Bethany Daniels Shapiro, Rob Flebbe, and Terry Jones, with award winning Parisian jazz artist Jerome Kaslin at the piano and Robin Borthwick at the drums. Kaslin is a long time friend and collaborator of Boily's and is featured on two of her cds

Ms. Boily has been working in the cabaret world for 20 years and has created one woman shows in such cities as New York, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles in the U.S.; at the Fringe Festivals in Canada, and in 2000 brought her show to Edinburgh, Scotland. While living in Paris, Ms. Boily regularly performed at the Hotel Westminster, The Green Room and CentreStage and in the West End at the Jermyn Street Theater in London during her two years there.

Deborah's first love has always been musical theater. Most recently she played the role of Lydia, D.H. Lawrence's mother, in the American premiere of SCANDALOUS, a new musical on the life of D.H. Lawrence at New Orleans' Jefferson Performing Arts Center. Other favorite roles include Mimi in William Finn's A NEW BRAIN and Mrs. Johnstone in BLOOD BROTHERS. Musical review work includes Malby and Shires' "Closer Than Ever,' and Mercury Theater Project's "Late and Lyrical" in London. Playwright Brad Korbesmeyer, who upon hearing Deborah sing an evening of French songs, wrote a one act play for her, PIAF IN VIENNA, which had it's World Premiere at New Jersey Rep, subsequently moving on to Riverside Theater in Vero Beach, Florida.

Boily, well known to Houston cabaret & theater audiences, recently starred in and directed Main Street Theater's presentation of "Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris," which enjoyed stagings at Times Boulevard, Chelsea Market, and Ovations. Deborah now makes her home in Houston and has a full time vocal studio. www.deborahboily.com
